Why Dive?

Once I realized that the oceans cover over 70% of the Earth’s surface I was sold on being able to immerse myself in that world. I knew it would be an adventure; almost like being on another planet. Entering a place that humans aren’t meant to be; even the fish know that you’re an oddity beneath the surface.

“For most people, this is as close to being an astronaut as you’ll ever get. It’s leaving planet Earth behind and entering an alien world.” – Mary Frances Emmons

It’s also still a very new frontier where “an estimated 50-80% of all life on earth is found under the ocean surface and the oceans contain 99% of the living space on the planet. Less than 10% of that space has been explored by humans.” Scuba diving is an activity where pictures and videos just don’t capture the experience of having a Manta Ray with a 12 foot wing span buzz within inches of your head!

Cheers,
Tim

With the Earth being covered in mostly water; divers simply live on a much bigger planet.
